Canadian company to build four Moon-shaped casinos, including one in Las Vegas

A Canadian company called Moon World Resorts Incorporated is reportedly planning to build moon-themed casino resorts with a “lunar surface” in Las Vegas and at several other locations around the globe. According to the New York Post, Moon World Resorts is planning to build moon-themed casinos in Las Vegas, Spain, China, Spain, and the Middle East. Canada-based Moon World Resorts is an architectural design & intellectual property licensing firm.

IGC approves Caesars Southern Indiana’s $250M sale to EBCI Holdings

The operator of Caesars Southern Indiana Hotel & Casino has finally obtained regulatory approval for the sale of the property to EBCI Holdings LLC -- a new venture formed by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

In December last year, Casino operator Caesars Entertainment signed a deal with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to sell Caesars Southern Indiana Casino to EBCI Holdings for $250 million. Now, the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) has also approved the deal.

Twin River Casino alleged robbers facing decades in prison

Two suspects who robbed two men in the parking lot of Lincoln, Rhode Island-based Twin River Casino around a couple of weeks ago are finally behind the bars, facing decades in prison and hefty fines. Both robbery suspects are from Massachusetts, and both are in their 20s. Nicholas Rudolph is 26-year-old and he is a resident of Attleboro. He was arrested and charged with two counts -- first-degree robbery and first-degree conspiracy. He has been held without bond since he appeared in Providence District Court earlier this week.

American daily fantasy sports contest & sports betting operator DraftKings has confirmed that it has partnered with Sports & Social to build new locations in New Nashville and Detroit. The widely-popular sports betting operator and Sports & Social restaurant said that their commercial partnership would result in unique, in-person entertainment experiences by providing a blend of premium food, sports betting, and social amusement. 

Ohio state senators approve SB 176 to legalize sports-betting

Taking the first major step towards the legalization of retail and online sports-betting in Ohio, the State Senators passed Senate Bill 176 (SB 176) by voting 30-to-02 in support of the measure.

The SB 176 has specifically designed to allow gaming entities in the Midwestern state to apply for one of 58 land-based and remote sportsbetting licenses that the state government has plans to issue in the coming years.

Chicago-based gambling ring’s alleged key player Todd Blanken avoids prison term

Todd Blanken, alleged mastermind of “multi-million dollar” Chicago-based gambling ring, has avoided prison time as a district sentenced the 44-year-old to just six months in a community center.

U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall also allowed Blanken, a resident of Cary, Illinois, to work while staying in the community center. The judge also ordered him to remain on two years of probation.
